Ian David Harvey
January 13, 1941 – January 16, 2024

After a brief stay at VON Sakura House Woodstock, Ian David Harvey of Tillsonburg passed away on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at the age of 83 years.
Son of the late Marion (Edwards) and David Harvey of Toronto.
Loving husband of 46 years to Iris (nee Hodgson)
Loving and dedicated father to Kristine Harvey and her husband Mario Vilela, Tanya Boone, and stepson Mark Mateyk.
He was a grandfather who was a true bridge for his grandsons Cody Vilela, Domenic Boone, Mikey Henry and Brandon Henry.
Ian will be missed and forever cherished by all of his cousins, extended family and longtime friends whom he considered his brothers and sisters.
He was a friend to all and helped everyone he could. Ian was a curious individual who loved to learn and was genuinely interested in everyone he met.
Ian was born, raised and worked in Toronto. His first job out of school was with the TD Bank. Then he moved on to the Financial Loans business, He was also in sales for an advertising agency before switching to selling ladies’ clothing and finally as a marketing manager for Precision Express Supply Ltd.
representing many American manufacturing companies in southern Ontario.
Ian moved with Iris to Tillsonburg in 1996 and enjoyed his early retirement on their lovely thirty-five acre wooded property.
Ian dedicated his time and was a board member for over 20 years at the Helping Hand Food Bank, Tillsonburg.
Ian practically grew up on tennis and badminton courts. He was a talented junior player at Strathgowan and North Toronto and later a member at St. Clements Badminton Club in the TDBA, where he met Iris.
He was an avid golfer and loved to golf as much as he loved to travel. He also enjoyed collecting antiques, caring for his precious orchard and walking his dog, Ashley, through the woods and in Participark.
He was also very proud of being a longtime member of CORSA Ontario, the Oldsmobile Club of America and the Camera Club of Tillsonburg. Ian was also a member of St. John’s Anglican church for over 25 years.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held for Ian at the St. John’s Anglican Church, Tillsonburg, ON, on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 am. Donations in memory of Ian may be made to the Helping Hand Food Bank, Tillsonburg or a charity of your choice and can be done directly to the charity or via cheque payable to the Charity by contacting the Funeral Home.
