About Prayer
Prayer is at the centre of the spiritual life of a Christian. It is about connecting and communicating with God.  There are as many ways of praying as there are individuals. Our personalities and life experiences influence how we pray.  Each week the AFS shares a new and different prayer resource for your reflection.

From the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer...

April 28 is the National Day of Mourning (Canada) for workers who have lost their lives:
Prayer for National Mourning
"Almighty God, we come before you in our sorrow to entrust our brothers and sisters into your hands. In this life, you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest. Comfort those who mourn today, take away the burden of regret, and guide us, as a nation, toward healing and peace. Amen".

Earth Day is April 21
Holy God, earth and air and water are your creation, and every living thing belongs to you: have mercy on us as climate change confronts us. Give us the will and the courage to simplify the way we live, to reduce the energy we use, to share the resources you provide, and to bear the cost of change. Forgive our past mistakes and send us your Spirit, with wisdom in present controversies and vision for the future to which you call us in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen (The Anglican Church of Australia).

Draw Us Forth
Draw us forth, God of all creation.
Draw us forward and away from limited certainty
into the immense world of your love.
Give us the capacity to even for a moment
taste the richness of the feast you give us.
Give us the peace to live with uncertainty,
with questions,
with doubts.
Help us to experience the resurrection anew
with open wonder and an increasing ability
to see you in the people of Easter.

A PRAYER FOR THE PARISH
O God, our heavenly Father, bestow upon our parish the rich blessings of your loving kindness; that we may prove ourselves a people of your favour and glad to do your will. Make us alive to all the opportunities and responsibilities of our time. Keep us open to all who need our love and fellowship and inspire us with a vision of a world won for Jesus our Lord.
