What will my first visit be like?
Expect a friendly greeting at the door and to step into a welcoming atmosphere. We are a friendly bunch! Let the greeters know that you are visiting and they will be pleased to help.
Will the service be easy to follow?
You will find the service information, words, and prayers projected in sequence onto the screens in front of the church. There are opening prayers, readings, hymns, a sermon and Holy Communion.
Will I manage if this is all new to me?
You can participate as much or as little as you feel suits you. All are invited to come up to the Lord’s table. If you would like to receive a blessing only simply cross your arms over your chest. To receive communion hold out your hands for the host wait for the chalice. If you are unable to come up to the altar, a priest can bring Communion to you in your pew. Just let the greeter know.
Will there be an offering?
There is a bowl for an offering of your choice at the entrance. We do not pass the bowl as part of the service.
What happens at the end of the service?
At the end of the service, there is an opportunity for the priest to meet and greet people individually. Also, continue down the main aisle towards the Hall where tea, coffee, a cookie are served. This is a wonderful time to meet and keep up with your new friends.
